Dear Starr,

Funny you should speak of miracles. They are for real today!! How do I know?? I have seen them up close and personal, with my own eyes!! Big ones and small ones!!

In 1997, my then-wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in Nashville, Tennessee. When we got that diagnosis, we cried quite a few tears, clueless and fearful of what we faced. A week or two later, on my way to class in graduate school, I was praying to our dear Lord for healing for my wife. I felt the Lord tell me she did not have multiple sclerosis and she never would get that disease. I also felt a great peace come over me. About a month, or so, afterward, we went to the multiple sclerosis clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. After Vanderbilt doctors reviewed her previous medical records and performed their own tests, they concluded she did not have multiple sclerosis and that the original diagnosis was without merit from the beginning. We jumped for joy about that!! It was a BIG miracle!!

I thus do believe in miracles and I hope even against impossible odds, as I cannot argue with what I've seen with my own eyes!! This is why I continue to pray for you and your migraines.

In Christ's precious love,

Starr,

In rereading your very first blog, I feel led to post a comment to it, even though this entry is May 30, 2009.

You speak of gates, and you say, "Doorways and gateways open to future places and close to the past." Indeed they do. Recently, on two occasions, my church's choir has sung a song titled simply "Psalm 24." To be precise, the words come from Psalms 24:7-10. The chorus, which we sing in a multipart round, says,

"Lift up your heads oh ye gates.
And be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors.
Lift up your heads oh ye gates.
And be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors.
And the King of glory will come in!
And the King of glory will come in!
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord mighty in battle!
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord mighty in battle!"

The point here is that if we lift our heads up and look upward toward God, the King of glory will come in, He will save us, he will help us, He will encourage us, and He will provide for us!! He will free us from our glass jar prison with no lid that may oppress us!!

Starr, from this date, May 30, 2009, forward, you have been uplifting and encouraging people the world over!! May our dear Lord guide you in doing so for your many remaining days here on this planet!!

In Christ's tender love,

Starr, you say that "the Lord is faithful to His promises. God promises to answer prayer and work all things together for good in Romans 8:28." Indeed He does. This reminds me of the famous hymn "Standing On The Promises," whose words in particular say,

"Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God."

Since 2003, especially, I have very often ridden on nothing but faith. I have been absolutely clueless of what the Lord would do in my life or even the reasons He has done some of the things He has done. I have, however, prayed diligently more times than I can count for His help, guidance, provision, and for other people. One of those other people I've prayed for very much is you. You are a loving minister to many people in your local area and around the world. You reach out to touch their hearts, and this is most pleasing to our dear Lord!! I simply pray, among other things, that the Lord gives you the strength, encouragement, love, compassion, and general provision to carry out your ministry, and those prayers will continue!!

The Bible says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9 KJV.

In Christ's tender love!!

Dear Starr,

I can identify with what you are talking about, though my situation involved my father, rather than my mother. I loved him, and he and my mother provided us a good home when we were kids. During the years 1982 - 1998, though, he did something inconceivable and unspeakable. Finally, December 8, 2003, he died. I truly hope and pray he got promoted to Heaven on that day, but the truth is I honestly do not know. In any case, I've had to forgive him for his actions and simply commend that situation into the hands of our dear Lord. It isn't easy!!

Though you specifically write about mothers and their daughters, I think this blog entry can apply to both parents. Thank you for the encouragement you give through your blog entries!!

Dearest Tom,
Thank you for your compliment on the redesigned blog page. It gets a facelift now and then, as change for all of us is a good thing, now and again.

My heartfelt thanks to you, for following my blog, for taking the time to read them, for commenting on them, and for being a part of this little corner of the world that I dedicate to voicing my thoughts to God. I am touched more than you know.

Isn't it amazing that in the strangest of places, strangers can become friends, and friends can come toghether in the family of Christ? Happy Father's Day.

In Christ's Precious Love,
Starr

Starr,

First, your redesigned blog page looks beautiful!!

Second, I can identify with your words in this entry. My earthly father died in 2003. Even before then, I've had to depend on our Heavenly father to meet my needs. He never has failed me either, though he sometimes has fulfilled my needs in ways I didn't expect. One longstanding need I've had He fulfilled March 26, 2010. I am so grateful He did so!!

A very dear friend had her father get promoted into Heaven June 24, 2004. As that date approaches, I pray the Lord encourages and comforts her pained heart!!

My prayer for all those who read Starr's blog entry on this Fathers Day is that, for those who are fatherless in the human sense and those who are feeling pain from any cause, may our dear Lord warmly touch each heart with His warm healing touch that never goes away!!

In Christ,

Dear Dr. Strangelove,
One thing that I have stipulated since the beginning of this blog site, is for it to be a place for God to receive the glory and honor and praise. I welcome open questions and communications, so when your comment came across my email, I chose to openly and publically respond to you.

Lets begin here. I wonder why you chose to open the statement by stating what you are ...and what you are not. Know this now...wherever you are...whoever you are...for I do not know you, nor do I know where you are...God does. He knows how many hairs are on your head and He knows you personally. So, it's not all about you. It's about Him. It's not about what you are...or not. It's about who He is. He is the Alpha and the Omega...He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow...for all eternity. So...keeping that in mind.

Remember that Jesus was crucified for the good of mankind already, and was raised from the dead three days later. This already has happened. The Bible tells us that He will return again for His church. Anyone's belief or non belief will not change God's plan or God's power, or God's truth one bit. If those who believe in God and Heaven and all that "stuff" are wrong, then what is the harm? Nothing, right? A bunch of people just were wrong..no big deal. But if all the Christians are right...then what is the harm? Then alot of people who didn't believe will spend eternity without the presence of God. That is a tragedy.

Lets get back to Aslan. No one knows what Aslan represented EXACTLY...except C.S. Lewis. We can look at the clues given in the book and in the character representations. Aslan's character does resemble Christ. Even down to his crown. Many scholars believe that Aslan represents many aspects of Christ. They believe that he also could represent what form Christ would take as an animal in a fantasy world where animals could talk. Basically meaning, He would be the King of the jungle. Aslan also returned to rule His people, as Christ will do upon His second coming.

As far as the statement of Christ having already returned for the second time and already been slain already...that is completely non biblical and is not following the phrophetic biblical teachings about what will happen before Christ's second coming. The signs before the second coming are laid out for us in the Bible. We are in the End Times. But, there are yet some prophecies that need to be fulfilled before that can happen. My friend, when Christ returns....you'll know it. It won't be in question. And it won't happen in secret where the world will wonder. We will all know.

Remember...about being in Heaven...the Bible tells us that no one comes to the Father but through Jesus. No one.

About the Bible being taken literally...the metaphor and parable statement...The Bible, from beginning to end is to be taken literally. The metaphor and parables are there for us to learn from because Jesus gave us those for learning purposes. Have you ever needed to give an example of something to someone to help them understand it? Jesus did the same thing. This doesn't lessen what He said...it amplified it to the tenth power. Ask God to show you what is true and what isn't. Don't take my word for it. Don't take anyone elses word for it. Take God's word for it.

Dr. Strangelove...whoever you are out there...whatever brought you to my blog...Isaiah 58:11 says, "The Lord will guide you continually." It sounds to me like you have looked to earthly answers for eternal questions. God can give them to you. Ask Him...He will show them to you, Himself. Read the Bible for yourself. Don't trust anyone else with your eternity. Dont' classify yourself as anything less than what you are. Have you ever considered that to God you are a child of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah?

Let me refer you to ChristianAnswers.net - How Do We Know the Bible is True?

If you still have questions, email me what area you are in, and I can link you up to some pastors in your area. I have posted a scripture reference for you below.

Thank you for your comments and questions. I hope you find the answers you are seeking.
Cheryl Starr

1 Thessalonians 4:15-5:4 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of god, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

I'm not an atheist. I'm far from it, honestly. I'm a Christian.
So, keeping that in mind, remember that Aslan was slain. I am in no way saying that C.S. Lewis was any sort of prophet. But, Aslan represented what Christ would be like in the FUTURE. Not what happened in the past. Isn't it entirely likely that Christ will again be sacrificed for the greater good of man? As a matter of fact, couldn't Christ have already returned, and been slain already.

Consider this: God "gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life in Heaven.

God GAVE his only son, so that mortal men can live with him in the Glory of Heaven.

Revelations tells us that all of the souls that believe in God will be taken to Heaven.

Before I go any further, let me point out the fact that a very small percentage of the bible is to be taken literally. The bible is full of metaphors and parables.

That being said, isn't it entirely likely that Jesus incarnate will not take all of his believers to live in Heaven, but will renew the faith that mortals should have in him?

Even more bizarre, consider this: Jesus incarnate may have already came back, and has been slain. There are many I can think of that would fit a close profile.

I'm looking forward to receiving a response,
Dr. Strangelove.
